Understanding Your Criminal Record: A Step-by-Step Guide
Do you know what’s on your criminal record? Hi, my name is Aaron Grubb. I’m the Tahlequah criminal defense attorney at Wirth Law Office, and in this video, we’re just going to talk about how to find out what’s on your criminal record.
So first things first, you want to go to OSCM, which is the Oklahoma Courts’ online court records database. In this system, you can type in your first name, last name, or even a case number if you have it, and it will pull up any criminal cases, civil cases, and what was filed under those cases.
Accessing Official Criminal Record Information
It’s important to note that this method technically doesn’t yield an official version of your court or criminal records. To obtain an official version, you need to visit the OSBI, which stands for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations.
The OSBI maintains a comprehensive database of your criminal records. If you provide your name, any aliases, your birthday, and your social security number, they can pull up your criminal record, which can include your mugshot, fingerprints, and other pertinent information.
Expungement and Legal Assistance
If you have questions regarding your criminal record or are interested in having it expunged—meaning that data is removed from these databases—please contact us here at Wirth Law Office. It’s crucial to understand your rights and the possibilities available to you concerning your criminal history.
Again, I’m Tahlequah misdemeanor attorney Aaron Grubb, and I appreciate your time. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have concerns about your criminal record.
